Bringing people to palaces and palaces to people

Helping refine a digital strategy that would allow Historic Royal Palaces to be bolder.

Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) had ambitions as grand as their palaces: being a charity for everyone. But when it came to fostering this with the right digital strategy, the direction was not as clear.

Sound the trumpets, Transform are here to help.

The challenge:

Being a charity for everyone was a big goal that HRP needed an ambitious digital strategy to support. The art of possible was vast but with finite resources and evolving tech & data maturity, activity and investment plans needed a clear focus.

Given how heavily their charitable giving relies on ticket sales, they wanted to ensure exceptional experiences for ticket holders, encouraging them to return, as well as being able to cater to underserved audiences who may never visit.

People to palaces and palaces to people.

The Solution:

We knew understanding priority audiences would be key to giving focus to the digital strategy and so we worked with HRP teams to agree target groups, identifying gaps and insights along the way. We led with a consultative approach; running workshops and honing what they already had, whilst applying fresh thinking and challenge. Everything from KPIs to principles and capabilities were incorporated in a strategy and roadmap which was endorsed by the Board and put into operation with the team.

The Results:

Their reach engagement and commercial KPIs are core to HRP being sustainably successful. Having a balanced digital plan means they can achieve their goal of being, genuinely, a charity for everyone.

“Transform brought great ideas and clarity, whilst also helping us get the most from our existing work and people”
